Two arrested in holiday weekend offences

MONCTON, N.B. – District 5 RCMP say they have arrested two people in connection with several property-related offences in the region over the long Canada Day weekend.

Tomisina Knowles of Moncton and Michael Deveau of Rogersville, both 25, are facing charges of break, enter and theft, theft under $5,000, and theft of a motor vehicle.

Police say the incidents took place on June 28 and 29 in the Irishtown and Dundas areas.

Deveau is remanded in custody until his next court appearance on July 17.

Knowles has been released from custody on conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on July 3.

Police say they are investigating other incidents, and that more charges and arrests are possible.
