KEIZER, OR (News1130) – Carlos Ramirez slapped a triple to center field scoring three runs as the Vancouver Canadians powered ahead with a five-run eighth inning, winning 10-2 over the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes.

The C’s also got production from third baseman Kellen Sweeney, who hit a game-tying sacrifice fly in the fourth, then a solo home run to right field in the sixth. A run scored on a fielder’s choice gave him a third RBI for the game.

Starting pitcher Javier Avendano moved his record to 3-0 with the win. He allowed five hits and one run in five innings while striking out eight batters. His ERA is 0.45.

Overall, five Canadians pitchers struck out 15 batters in their third straight win against Salem-Keizer.

They play once more before returning to Vancouver for three games against first-place Everett.
