VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Summer has finally arrived in the Lower Mainland and that means it’s time to hit a patio! There is no shortage of places to enjoy a drink and a bite in the sunshine.

“A few of my favourites include Reflections in the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, where you can hide away from the city up above the skyscrapers,” says Cassandra Anderton from Good Life Vancouver.

“Another place that I love to go is The Galley at the Jericho Sailing Club,” she adds.

You could also check out Seasons in the Park in Queen Elizabeth Park after a visit to the Bloedel Conservatory.

The sunshine also means it’s barbeque season and there are two new cookbooks you can try out in your backyard.

“One of them is called ‘Charred & Scruffed’ and it’s by Adam Perry Lang [and features] all sorts of things you don’t really think about throwing on the barbeque. Another one is Rob Rainford’s ‘Born to Grill: Over 100 Recipes from His Backyard to Yours,’” explains Anderton.

So whether it’s on a patio in Yaletown or on your backyard deck, ’tis the season to take dining outside!
