Woman tied up, assaulted, robbed in Richmond home invasion

RICHMOND (NEWS1130) – Mounties in Richmond are looking for the men responsible for a violent home invasion late last month.

It happened on June 26th around 3 p.m. at a home on Petts Road near Gilbert Road. Two men knocked on the door and told a 50-year-old woman inside that they wanted to talk to her about an insurance claim.

The woman eventually invited the men inside, at which point RCMP say they tied her up and assaulted her. A few minutes later, two more men arrived. The suspects made off with several suitcases and bags containing some of the victim’s personal belongings.

The woman was able to break free to call police for help. She had minor injuries to her face.

The high-end bags that were stolen, including seven Hermes purses, are worth between $5,000 and $15,000 each.

All four suspects are in their early 20s. Two are believed to be Asian, while another is believed to be South East Asian. They may be driving around in a silver or charcoal-coloured full-sized SUV (possibly a Ford Explorer) with a hatchback and stock rims.

If you have any information about this home invasion, you’re asked to call the RCMP at (604)278-1212 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
