SURREY (NEWS1130) – The driver accused of killing Surrey’s Kassandra Kaulius is expected to plead guilty today.
Victor Kaulius says the pain of his daughter’s death will never leave their family. “We really really don’t want this to happen to other families. The hurt…the hurt is deep, and it doesn’t go away.”
His 22-year-old daughter was killed last year by an oncoming car. The driver is expected to make the plea in Surrey Provincial Court.
Natasha Leigh Warren, 34, was charged in April 2012 with dangerous driving causing death, driving under the influence, and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
Warren was released on $5,000 bail in April.
The Kaulius family continues to push to have impaired driving causing death recognized as vehicular manslaughter. They’ve set up Families for Justice to collect signatures on a petition.
