TERRACE (NEWS1130) – The Transportation Safety Board has sent part of the wreckage of a downed helicopter to France for help in the investigation of a crash near Terrace.
Three men were killed when the chopper they were in were went down June 1.
TSB inspector Glen Friesen says the agency doesn’t have the facilities and equipment to inspect certain parts of the damaged helicopter.
Friesen says he hopes the inspection agency in France can help pinpoint what may have set off the accident.
The A-Star 350 helicopter, belonging to Baily Helicopters of Fort St. John, crashed on Sleeping Beauty Mountain.
Killed were 44-year-old Peter Bryant of Terrace, 48-year-old Blake Erickson of Sicamous and 44-year-old Arnaud Jolibois of Banff, Alta.
