REGINA, SK (NEWS1130) – The BC Lions (2-0) and Saskatchewan Roughriders (2-0) are the only CFL teams without a loss through two weeks of the season, but that will change today as they’ll battle for first place.

The Lions earned wins at home over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Hamilton Tiger-Cats to begin the year as they prepare for their first game away from BC Place.

The Leos will have a couple of fresh faces in the starting lineup thanks to some injuries. Wide receiver Shawn Gore is expected to see limited action as he deals with an ankle sprain. Marco Iannuzzi will fill in for Gore.

On defence, Byron Parker will sit out with a tweaked hamstring and he’ll be replaced by Josh Bell. Ryan Phillips, who was injured in last week’s win over Hamilton is expected to get the start.

The Roughriders’ defence shone in a 17-1 victory over the Edmonton Eskimos last week. They registered six sacks and didn’t allow a touchdown or a field goal.

The first meeting between these two teams was a much different story last season. Both teams were 0-5 to begin the year and were looking for their first victories. The Lions took a 24-11 decision at Empire Field.

Kick-off is at 12 p.m.
