REGINA, SK (NEWS1130) – The Roughriders edged BC 23-20. The winning points came off of a Paul McCallum missed field goal, as Saskatchewan’s Tristan Jackson ran it back 129 yards for a TD early in the fourth quarter.

McCallum missed the 44 yard field goal and Jackson tied a CFL record by navigating his way into the BC end zone. The touchdown gave the Roughies a 23-13 lead.

The Riders also benefited after a McCallum miss in the third quarter, as they kicked a field goal to take the lead they would not relinquish, 16-13.

On the season, the BC veteran kicker is now nine for twelve in field goal attempts in three games. He missed only three all of last season.

BC quarterback Travis Lulay was 23-40 for 345 yards passing with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

The longest TD was a 69-yard play to Kierrie Jackson in the first quarter. It was Jackson’s only catch, as he broke his left forearm when he landed in the end zone. He is expected to miss six to eight weeks.

Geroy Simon dislocated a finger in the Leos final drive but is not expected to miss any games.

Saskatchewan is the final undefeated team in the league at 3-0. The Roughriders did not turn the ball over.

The Leos are 2-1 and entertain Edmonton next Friday at BC Place.
