SURREY (NEWS1130) – A party bus brawl has landed several people in hospital.
A group of teens were out for a late-season grad party. They got off at a gas station at Highway 15 and Highway 10 in Surrey around 10 p.m. and then got into a fight with a nearby driver.
About 40 people were involved in the fight. Six people were sent to hospital. One of the teens has a serious head injury after getting hit with a 2 x 4.
“This was a very unfortunate confrontation that quickly escalated violently. We believe it was fuelled by alcohol and poor judgement,” says RCMP Sergeant Drew Grainger.
“[It’s] a little late in the season for a graduation ceremony, but that was the theme for this bus that was chartered by a number of youth from the Surrey area,” he adds.
One person is in custody.
