Young girl hit by car in Richmond

Update 1:03 p.m.: The girl’s condition has been upgraded from critical to serious but stable. She’s now in an induced coma.
Police say the 79-year-old driver who hit her wasn’t drunk. They’re not sure if any charges will be laid.
RICHMOND (NEWS1130) – A 12-year-old girl has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car at Francis and No 3 Road around 4 p.m. yesterday. Police say she was not in a crosswalk when hit.
The girl has been taken to BC Children’s Hospital in critical condition.
Officers from the Integrated Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Services are helping Richmond’s Road Safety Unit with the investigation.
Callers to News1130 reported a pair of sandals laying in the middle of the road while crews performed CPR on the victim.
