TLC’s ‘Sister Wives’ suing the State of Utah

By

The stars of TLC’s ‘Sister Wives’ have sued the State of Utah to persuade a federal judge to declare the state’s bigamy law as ‘unconstitutional’.

Bigamy is a felony in Utah, punishable by up to five years in prison.

State officials have publicly said they will not prosecute consenting adult polygamists unless there are other crimes involved.

The reality show stars Kody Brown and his four wives, who moved to Nevada to escape prosecution.

A hearing on the motion to dismiss the case is set for Wednesday.
