VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It’s time once again for the Celebration of Light.  First up on Saturday night is Vietnam. Brazil is up on Wednesday and Italy wraps things up next Saturday.  It’s all free but bring a donation for the food bank if you can. Show time is around 10 p.m.

Get in shape and kick off Pride Week with a 4km or 10km run at Lumberman’s Arch in Stanley Park Saturday and help raise money for Out in Schools, a program that fights homophobia and bullying in schools.

There’s a party happening on Granville Street this weekend between Robson and Georgia.  Come check out this huge Afo-Brazillian block party complete with a Capoeira competition and traditional dance and music. And it’s all free.

Come enjoy a taste of the Caribbean at Caribbean Days Festival at Waterfront Park.  There will be music, dancing, great food and lots of things for the kids to do.  And it’s all free.

Ever think beekeeping might be for you?  Well wonder no more and come out to Beekeeping for Beginners Saturday at Southlands Heritage Farm.  You will not only learn basic bee management and how to produce honey, but you can sample from fresh honey as well.

Leave the speedo at home and, if you dare to bear it all, come out to the World Naked Bike Ride Saturday at Sunset Beach in the West End. 

Collective Soul play the River Rock Show Theatre Saturday.

Take a tour of the oldest block of houses in Kits Sunday on a guided tour with local historian Bruce Macdonald.  It begins at Arbutus and 7th.

It’s time again for the Food Cart Fest at the Waldorf.  From barbeque to kebabs and grilled cheese to tacos, there’s something to tantalize your tastebuds.  There will also be live music, a community market and beer garden. Best of all, admission is free.

This is a great way to spend a Sunday with your kids.  Bring them to Birds of a feather at the Lost Lagoon nature House and go on a two hour walking trip where you will learn how to identify birds and explore their habitat.  Admission is by donation. Email for more information.

From beginners to pros, bring your motorbike out to West Coast Superbikes on Sunday at the Tradex in Abbotsford where you will learn how to develop skills and techniques in a safe and progressive way.
