LONDON, England – The day the world has awaited is finally here — the London 2012 Olympic Games got underway with the Opening Ceremony, Friday.

Queen Elizabeth II officially opened the 2012 Games. The Olympic Cauldron was lit by seven young athletes representing the Olympic future.
