VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The next time you go shopping, your bill might be a bit lower than usual.
One retail expert says Target‘s expected arrival next year is pushing stores to lower their prices.
David Ian Gray says retailers are already starting to slash their prices in advance of the American superstore’s opening.
It’s all a part of their strategy to try to please loyal customers and prevent them from leaving for the new shop in town.
“Those that don’t keep pace, will start to slide,” he explains. “Again, it’s just another offering in the marketplace whether or not they shop Target, the others around Target will have to up their game.”
And it’s not just a difference in price tags. Gray predicts service and the overall shopping experience at big box stores to be a lot more pleasant.
