VICTORIA (NEWS1130) – Air Canada is looking into a frightening discovery on a flight between Victoria and Toronto yesterday. A sewing needle was found in a sandwich served by the airline.
The story is very similar to reports out of Amsterdam, a couple of weeks ago involving needles in sandwiches on four Delta Airlines flights.
Air Canada confirms in an email, they have contacted their caterer, and launched an investigation.
The airline is working with the food supplier to step up security.
Police are also looking into the complaint.
No word on if the passenger who found the needle in their sandwich was hurt.
