UPDATE: The violin, bow, case and a song book have been recovered. They were found in a home on 19th Avenue in Burnaby. No charges have been laid yet.
BURNABY (NEWS1130) – It is 240 years old, worth $50 ,000 and it’s missing.
A rare violin was stolen from a woman’s car at Metrotown in Burnaby this week.
To make matters worse, the woman has a concert scheduled for next month.
Police say she’s scrambling to track to track down it down before she’s supposed to play.
In addition to the violin, $3,000 bow, a couple of brand new laptop computers, an iPhone and a Louis Vuitton bag were stolen.
She locked them all in her car around 3:30 in the afternoon on Tuesday and went into the mall to do some shopping.
When she came back about half an hour later all of her stuff was gone.
This case is prompting yet another warning from police, they don’t want you leaving valuables in your car.
