PORT MOODY (NEWS1130) – Crews at Sasamat Lake in Port Moody have found the 21-year-old woman with special needs. Today was the fourth day Joy Zhang had been missing.

Dwight Yochim with Coquitlam Search and Rescue says their teams combed the forest where Zhang was found using a grid search.

“[The searchers] were spread out along the slope a few metres apart and they started walking in a straight line,” he says.”That’s how we found her.”

He says his team is ecstatic. “She wasn’t responding to us and wasn’t very far off the trail but we knew we would have to come to her, and that worked.”

Zhang was on a field trip with students in a special education program from Douglas College when she split off from the group and became lost.
