Lions prepare to face new-look Argonauts

By

TORONTO, ON (NEWS1130) – The BC Lions (3-2) have headed out on the road as they prepare to take on the revamped Toronto Argonauts (3-2) for the first time since quarterback Ricky Ray was acquired by the Argos.

Ray and the Lions are no strangers to each other. He spent the first seven years of his career with the Edmonton Eskimos before being traded to Toronto last December.

The Leos head into the game with only a distant memory of their last game, a convincing 34-8 victory over the Calgary Stampeders over a week ago.

Travis Lulay will try and continue his hot play from last week’s win. He threw for 315 yards and three touchdowns. The Toronto defence ranks second in the CFL against the pass and third against the run.

A pair of Leos defensive backs will be making their returns to Toronto after leaving the Argos for BC in the off-season. Byron Parker signed with the Lions as a free agent, while Lin-J Shell was sent west in a trade.

Kick-off today is 2 p.m.

The Lions will have a bye-week following today’s game and will return to action on Sunday, August 19th when they host the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
