Two Lions land Player of the Week Honours

TORONTO (NEWS1130) – Two BC Lions have won weekly league honours for their play in the Lions’ 18-9 victory in Toronto Monday.  

Lions linebacker Adam Bighill is the CFL Defensive Player of the Week after registering a game-high seven tackles to go with one sack and one interception.

Teammate James Yurichuk is the CFL Top Canadian for the week. 

The fourth-year Lions linebacker had five tackles and one interception in the defensive battle with the Argonauts. 

The Lions have a bye week and will return August 19th when they host Saskatchewan at BC Place.

Montreal running back Brandon Whitaker earned his second Offensive Player of the Week award after running for 115 yards in the Alouettes’ 36-26 win over Winnipeg.

Meanwhile teammate Sean Whyte, a former Lion, was named the Special Teams Player of the Week after connecting on all four of his field goal attempts in the win over the Blue Bombers.
