VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The brother of one of Canada’s Olympic women’s soccer team players is ecstatic after his younger sister and her squad won bronze at the London 2012 Games today.
Diana Matheson threaded a straight shot into the back of the French net in the 92nd minute to secure Canada’s 1-0 win over France and clinch third place on the podium.
Midfielder Brittany Timko, originally from Coquitlam, subbed in during the second half; her older brother Clayton, watching from Vancouver, went wild with excitement.
