VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A stabbing in East Vancouver has led to the city’s latest homicide investigation.

It happened overnight near Grandview Highway and Renfrew Street. News1130 spoke with a woman who lives in the building. “He was in the suite next door to me.”

“The police [were in] the hall here with their guns drawn. We knew that something bad must have happened. He just moved in this past week,” she tells us.

“The neighbour who lives on the ground floor, he heard the screaming and called 911 and then went out there and found his body hanging over the rail,” she describes.

She also claims police told her there’s no risk to public safety, because it was a targeted attack.

The victim is believed to be a man in his fifties.
