BURNABY (NEWS1130) – A motorcyclist has been arrested after dodging police from Coquitlam to Richmond.
It all began after Coquitlam RCMP tried to pull him over after he was spotted speeding on Highway One. But he didn’t stop.
RCMP say thanks to an Air 1 police helicopter, his wild ride was followed for two and a half hours.
At one point, Mounties say he even tried evading the chopper by driving under the flight path of oncoming planes
The man eventually wound up in Burnaby, driving into Metrotown’s underground parking lot, where he jumped into an SUV driven by a woman.
The two then headed west, but didn’t get very far before they were stopped by police.
For now, the motorcyclist is facing traffic charges, but perhaps other charges as well, as police learn more about why he was evading police.
