VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A group that calls itself the Re-Sergeance Alliance is appealing to Canadians in an effort to help restore faith in the RCMP. But a local criminologist isn’t sure writing a blog is the best way to get the message out.

Rob Gordon says it’ll be tough for people to find the blog online.

He has read some of the postings and is sure they are legitimate Mounties. But Gordon points out the group is hiding behind the anonymity of the Internet.

“It’s certainly quite cathartic for members of an organization who are feeling frustration, who are disappointed by the way in which the organization is suffering at the moment,” he tells us.

The Alliance, which claims it is 500 members strong, wants to get rid of harrassment, threats, and corruption within the force.

The group admits over the past two decades, it has lost its identity and has not been able to serve Canadians with honour.
