SURREY (NEWS1130) – Police have caught a suspect wanted in a string of crimes on the North Shore and around the Lower Mainland.
Mounties say the man attempted four car thefts and a bike theft, among other crimes.
West Vancouver Sgt. Paul Skelton says their lead began with an abandoned car in Caulfield.
“There was one stolen, recovered car on the highway,” he says. “We believe he attempted to steal another car on Falcon Road. We believe he also entered two other vehicles–one on Falcon Rd. and one on a different street out in Horseshoe Bay.”
The recovered car on the highway had stolen license plates on it from a Burnaby car as well as a stolen iPhone from Richmond.
Surrey resident Robert Paton is now facing eight charges including theft, possession of stolen property, failure to comply with probation orders, and carrying a concealed weapon.
Paton is due in court for a bail hearing August 21.
