VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It’s a summertime favourite on the west coast — the Fair at the PNE returns for its 102nd year, with the gates opening today.
There are a lot of big-name musical acts set to hit the stage, including Trooper, Rick Springfield, Olivia Newton-John, Our Lady Peace, and Hanson.
PNE President and CEO Michael McDaniel tells us there’s a special treat for all you game show lovers out there, as the Family Feud will be there three times a day for the fair’s entire 16-day run.
“We’ll pick them from the crowd and create two families that will compete against each other for prizes. I think it’s on a lot of people’s bucket list of things they would love to be on,” he says.
This year also marks the return of the PNE’s Feature Pavilion, which will be showcasing a new Star Trek exhibit.
Hundreds of thousands of people will go through the gates, and McDaniel suggests getting your tickets online or through another retailer to avoid the long line-ups.
Don’t forget, News1130 will be there once again, right across the PNE prize home; come down and say “Hi.” You can also record your own newscast at our booth.
