SEATTLE (News1130) – The Whitecaps struggled to shoot accurately against their Cascadia Cup rival Seattle Sounders, and lost 2-0. They mustered only five shots and none were on goal.
Despite losing for the second straight game by a 2-0 score, the match was a much better effort than that against FC Dallas on Wednesday night at BC Place.
Gershon Koffie was given a yellow card in extra time (91′).
The Sounders received scoring from Freddie Montero (64′) and Eddie Johnson (87′).
Cascadia Cup standings:
Portland 1-0-1
Seattle 1-1-1
Vancouver 0-1-2
WhitecapsFC will continue their Cascadia Cup action on the road against the Portland Timbers, August 25th 7:30 p.m. PDT.
