NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) –
UPDATE (Monday, August 20th): It will be a few days before police can tell us more about a body found Saturday on a North Vancouver trail. RCMP say the remains found just off Curling Road are human and the death does look suspicious. Forensic identification experts and an entomologist have been called in.
From Sunday, August 19th:
North Vancouver RCMP are investigating human remains that were found in a wooded area.
The remains were found around 6 p.m. yesterday off of Curling Road and Belle Isle Place.
“The scene had been contained overnight so daylight allowed for a better opportunity to do a proper examination,” explains Cpl. Richard de Jong.
“At this point, the GIS, which is our internal investigation service, along with the Integrated Forensic Identification Service and BC Coroners are involved in the investigation.”
Police are not releasing any further details at this time.
