VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A Vancouver business is out thousands of dollars because of a suspicious fire early this morning.
Fire fighters responded to calls for smoke in one of the storage containers at Maynards on Main Street and 2nd Avenue just after 6 a.m. and found all of the contents fully engulfed and destroyed.
“It’s a pain for us now. Again, it’s good product, you put it in your store and sell it and now it’s just salvage, it’s trash, it’s garbage,” says one of the store’s managers, who was visibly upset by the damage.
“I think some people are just, how can I say not all there, and they think that there’s something really of value inside and they want to get inside. I don’t know why people do this stuff, I have no idea.”
No cause yet, but the investigation and clean up is expected to be lengthy.
The store remains open for today.
