PRINCE GEORGE (NEWS1130) - A convicted murderer from the Prince George area will not be getting a new trial.
The BC Court of Appeal has rejected arguments that the trial judge shouldn’t have relied on testimony about Denis Ratte’s character, given by his daughter. She described him as “secretive.”
Ratte’s wife vanished in 1997. He was arrested 11 years later after confessing to an undercover cop.
Ratte admitted to shooting his wife and dumping her body in a swamp.
He was convicted of second-degree murder.
