LOS ANGELES, CA (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Whitecaps fell 2-0 to the L.A. Galaxy at Home Depot Center, losing their fourth straight match.

Juninho Paulista scored the games’ first goal at 41′ by driving in a shot from beyond the box, which capped a half where the Galaxy threatened to score

At 79′, David Beckham bent a free kick past backup Whitecap keeper Brad Knighton, replacing Joe Cannon who was given the night off. That would be the goal that ended nearly thirty minutes of Whitecap ball control.

The Galaxy continued to pressure the ball forward, forcing defensive play from Vancouver for the remaining time.

WhitecapsFC is still in playoff position with 37 points following the loss. FC Dallas is three points back of them in the standings.

That sets up an important next match in Dallas, September 15th. Kickoff is 5:30 p.m..
