UPDATE: Vancouver Police say Nina Tallio has been located. She is safe and sound with family and friends.

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Vancouver Police are asking for help in finding a missing 56-year-old woman who was last seen at about 6:00 p.m. yesterday.

Nina Isabel Tallio is new to the Lower Mainland and had taken Skytrain downtown to visit with her niece. She was reported missing after she failed to return to her home in Surrey.

Tallio is described as Aboriginal, tall, and 160 lbs. She has short salt and pepper hair. It is unknown what she was last wearing.

Family and friends say that her disappearance is completely out of character and are growing concerned for her well-being.

Area searches by police, as well as checks of hospitals and with other police agencies have failed to turn up any sign of her.

Anyone who sees Nina Tallio is asked to contact police immediately.
