VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Paul McCartney is coming to Vancouver.

The singer will perform in concert at BC Place on November 25th as part of his “On The Run” tour. This will be McCartney’s first show in Vancouver since The Beatles played at Empire Stadium in 1964.

During the 9 a.m. hour today, we’ll open the phone lines to give away a pair of tickets to caller 11 to see Paul McCartney on November 25th at BC Place. Listen for your cue to call 310-1130 for your chance to win!

We’ll also be giving away tickets in the weeks to come as a prize in the News1130 Insider Club.

Tickets go on sale to the general public today at 10 a.m.; they start at $35 and go up to $250.

Legendary Vancouver DJ Red Robinson says the audience this time around will be quite the mix. “There is with the Olympics, he’s just everywhere that young people would be exposed to him. And the music! I think it’s a cross section, you’re talking about an icon.”

He adds the singer never returned because he thought the sound system at Empire was awful!

“The sound was so rotten, it was terrible! The word got out Paul, and he said no, they’ve got to do something with the sound, I’m not doing that! And that’s what prevented him from coming.”
