VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – BC’s Khreem Smith forced a Rick Ray fumble and middle linebacker Adam Bighill recovered the ball on the Lions’ 20-yard line with less than a minute left to save a 28-23 win for BC over Toronto.
The teams exchanged a touchdown and a field goal in the final quarter. BC’s was scored by Rolly Lumbala on a one yard run.
BC quarterback Travis Lulay had a pair of second quarter touchdown tosses to Shawn Gore and Arland Bruce III respectively.
Lulay now had thrown a touchdown in 22 straight games, which is the second best mark in CFL history. He is still well back of Sam Etcheverry. “The Rifle” threw TD’s in 34 straight games for Montreal.
Geroy Simon returned from his hamstring injury and caught six balls for 117 yards.
The two clubs combined for over 700 yards in passing.
The Lions have downed the double blue in 10 of their last 11 games in Vancouver.
The Lions lead the CFL with an 8-3 record and play in Edmonton next Saturday.
