KAMLOOPS (NEWS1130) – Three people are dead and two others in hospital after a rollover on the Coquihalla Highway.
The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. yesterday between Merritt and Kamloops, about five kilometres south of the Highway 97D Interchange.
RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says witnesses — including a doctor and a nurse — provided first aid before emergency crews arrived.
The 42-year-old female driver and a 70-year-old male passenger, who was sitting behind her, suffered undetermined injuries.
The three deceased include a 49-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman, both of New Westminster, and a 41-year-old man from Surrey.
RCMP believe speed, but not alcohol, is a factor in the accident.
