VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Transit Police want you to have a look at some images they have released, related to the groping of a 12-year-old girl.

The assault happened back on Aug. 31, just before 4 p.m.

The police department’s Anne Drennan says when the girl was on one bus she sensed the man was eyeing her.  When she got off that bus and entered the number 130 Metrotown bus he ran across traffic to join her.

“As she stood at the back door of the bus to get off at Brentwood, the suspect pressed up behind her and pinned her, grabbing her buttock. She then got off the bus and ran to the Brentwood SkyTrain station where she approached (a) woman to ask for help.”

Drennan explains that it has taken the last couple of weeks to be able to get good enough images to release to the public.

“We had a forensic expert that we had to call in and that expert was able to do pretty extensive work to pull out images that are clear enough that we hope maybe someone will recognize him,” she says.

He’s described as black, between 25 and 35 years old, and bald.
