OTTAWA-With the possibility of an NHL lockout looking more and more like a sure thing, fans are not the only ones disappointed.  Many pubs and restaurants in the capital depend on Ottawa Senators games to generate business.

Local Heroes on Bank Street is described as “packed to the wall with standing room only” during the NHL season.

“Our busiest nights of the year are Senators nights and with the Ottawa 67s now playing at Scotiabank Place, we lose the impact on that business too,” said Manager Christian Cleland.

He says they will keep plugging away and go all out with the NFL, boxing and UFC to keep attracting customer.

“It doesn’t destroy us, but it does cut into our bottom line,” said Cleland.

But without the Senators playing, he said it will definitely be quieter on Saturday nights.
