NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Mounties and the coroner hope you can help them identify a woman who was found murdered on a path last month near Capilano Road and Marine Drive in North Vancouver.

Sergeant Jennifer Pound with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team explains they have no idea who she is. “This woman could be somebody’s mother. She could be somebody’s daughter. There are people that are probably expecting her to walk through the door.”

Her body was found on August 18th. Pound says someone tried to cover up the remains, which could have been there for months before they were found. She adds police are working with local and international agencies.

“At the end of the day, we need to identify this woman. We need to notify her family and we really need to get down to what actually occurred leading up to her death,” explains Pound.

The victim could have been anywhere between 25 and 40 years old. She had long, black curly hair

She was wearing brown Adidas runners and a brand of jeans typically only found in Europe. She had distinctive caps on her teeth. The woman had also broken her back at least six months before she was found dead.

Mounties hope if any of this rings familiar to you, you will give them a call.
