LANGLEY (NEWS1130) – A man has been charged with two counts of drug trafficking after he was spotted by US Border Patrol hiding in a ditch on our side of the border.

RCMP Corporal Holly Marks says officers were able to swoop in with the help of police dogs and catch him.

“He actually had two duffel bags with in excess of 20 kg of MDMA on him, also known as ecstacy, at a street value of over $1 million,” explains Marks.

“We were able to have our air services people come into the area, as well as police dog services. He did attempt to run, but was quickly caught,” she adds.

The 30-year-old man is from Mexico.
