RICHMOND (NEWS1130) – Pumpkins will look good but won’t be as plump this season thanks to Mother Nature.

“They’re going to be a little on the small size, but they’re looking good — good colour, good shape and the handles are great,” explains Lucas Hogler with Richmond Country Farms.

He says the drier weather means we won’t get any rotting pumpkins like we sometimes do in the Lower Mainland.

“The only problem is without the rain, the size of the pumpkin, we’re not going to have any 50 pound pumpkins,” Hogler adds.

We’re about a week away from pumpkin picking and Hogler’s crossing his fingers we won’t see any huge downpours which could keep you away from the patch and hurt sales.
