NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A man is in hospital following a stabbing in North Vancouver this morning.
Police were called to a home on Institute Road, just north of Lynn Valley Road around 1 a.m.
“Once we arrived on scene, we discovered that a 28-year-old North Vancouver male had received several stab wounds in a fight that he had with another male,” explains North Vancouver RCMP Cpl. Richard de Jong. “The 33-year-old suspect, also a North Vancouver resident, was located nearby and arrested by police.”
He says both men were taken to hospital.
“The victim was taken to Lions Gate Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. He remains in hospital in stable condition. The suspect was also treated in hospital for injuries sustained in the altercation.”
The suspect was released and taken into police custody.
De Jong adds both men are known to each other.
Investigators continue to interview witnesses to determine the motive behind the stabbing.
