VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Yesterday we told you Premier Christy Clark’s plan to upgrade the Massey Tunnel. Today, Adrian Dix responded to Clark’s 10-year plan.
The NDP leader says now is not a good time to be spending taxpayer dollars irresponsibly.
“What we need to do in these times is make prudent investments and if that’s one of them, then that’s great but we’ve got a government that loves to make announcements but doesn’t enjoy following through. Witness the fact that they say there’s no money and they keep spending it,” says Dix.
He also questions where the money will come from.
“If you’re going to set priorities, you’ve got to say where the money’s coming from,” believes Dix. “That’s what we’ve consistently done and what the government consistently hasn’t done. We need a prudent course to do what we can pay for and that’s what we’re going to try and do.”
When it comes to election promises, Dix thinks there are more significant priorities such as creating jobs and skills training.
