SURREY (NEWS1130) – It was a very busy night for Mounties in Surrey.

The RCMP is appealing for witnesses and a driver to come forward after a hit and run at 86th Avenue and 130th Street around 8:45 p.m.

Staff Sergeant Blair McColl says the victim is in hospital with very serious injuries.

“No witnesses have come forward so far. We’re led to believe it’s a red car and that’s all we know at this point however the investigation is ongoing,” he explains.

Meanwhile, Mounties were also called out to a stabbing at a house party near 95th Avenue and 159th Street shortly before 9 p.m.

“A lot of alcohol and an argument had started. Two males got into a heated argument with one of them ending up stabbing the other one with a small knife,” McColl says.

He adds the victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is recovering.

One man has been arrested and charges are likely.
