NEW WESTMINSTER (NEWS1130) – One man is dead after a late night stabbing in New Westminster.
Police were called to a house on 3rd Avenue and 5th Street around 10:30 last night, where they found a 26-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to the neck. He died at 5:45 this morning in the hospital.
IHIT Sgt. Jennifer Pound says investigators are still looking for a suspect.
“There were witnesses in the area that saw a male running away from that location and that male is described as an Asian male, approximately 25 years of age, 5 foot 5, short black hair, a muscular build, wearing a black muscle shirt and grey shorts,” Pound explains.
Police are still contacting the victims next-of-kin and won’t say at this time if he is known to police.
