BURNABY (NEWS1130) – There are people you meet that are truly inspirational and Burnaby Fire Captain Rudy Pospisil is one of them.

Rudy’s goal is to raise money in the fight against cancer by cycling through thirty countries, it’s the Thirty4Three Firefighter Global Cyclist For Charity.

Rudy has been a firefighter for about 25 years and he got the calling early.

“When I was a kid we always used to go down and play around the fire hall and we went on a tour there and I think like a lot of kids I thought ‘Oh I want to do that job’ and funny thing is one of my first postings was that hall at Hastings and Willingdon.”

Rudy was diagnosed 10 years ago, went through treatment and surgery and survived. And the thing about survivors is that they are tough.

Now Rudy is cycling through the southern US and this stretch will be added to nine other countries he’s already ridden through.
