NEW WESTMINSTER (NEWS1130) – A 36-year-old Burnaby man has pleaded guilty to killing his wife, whose body was found in a suitcase in the Fraser River last year.
The RCMP say Zhongming “James” Mou admitted to second-degree murder in the death of 27-year-old Yating “Lancy” Hu in New Westminster BC Supreme Court today.
Mou was initially charged with first-degree murder.
Hu’s body was found in the Fraser River off Richmond in August of 2011. She vanished a month earlier and Mou gave police conflicting stories about her disappearance.
The couple had two young children, who are now in the care of their grandparents.
