VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – There’s less than three weeks until Halloween is here! Have you found your costume yet?

News1130 is finding out which ones are the most popular this year.

Koreen Ellingson works at Value Village; she says along with your typical school girl and Batman get-up, a certain fruit continues to be a favorite.

“Banana has been the biggest seller,” she tells us. “People just love the banana, I don’t know why!”

“Snow White and Huntsmen has been really popular. We’ve also sold out of all our ninja costumes,” she adds.

Other popular costumes include a devils, monsters, and anything furry, like cats. Lady bugs are also a big hit, as are fairies and witches. Kid-size Spidermans has been sold out for a couple of weeks.

Ellingson says when it comes to getting creative with costumes, children lead the way; they’re great at adding sparkles, face paint, and accessories to add a personal twist.

If you’re looking for ways to get creative, you can find ideas in books or checking out pieces of art.

Although Halloween can be pricey and time consuming, Ellingson figures we still do it because it’s a chance to be creative, work our minds and get out of our every day clothes and routine.

Besides, if you’re really pressed for time and lacking creativity, you can always go as a ghost!
