DELTA (NEWS1130) – Fire crews remain at the site of a massive two-alarm fire in Delta dousing hot spots.
A barn around 104th Street near 59th Avenue has been destroyed after flames ripped through the structure before midnight.
Yaseen phoned our newsroom when he spotted the fire. “The barn is at least 75 to 100 feet long, and now, there is nothing left of it except a few pillars along the edges”
Yaseen says at one point, flames were shooting 30 feet in the air.
Battalion Chief Ron Grant says there were fears at one point the fire would spread to neighbouring buildings.
“The winds weren’t extremely strong. There are a couple of buildings in the area, and we just monitored them,” Grant explains. “No one was injured. No one was in the building. There were animals around the perimeter, but none were injured in this fire.”
He says the cause is unknown.
