VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Hundreds of customers are questioning the real “value” of Value Village.
The store’s Facebook page is being flooded with complaints that it’s too expensive, especially for Halloween costumes.
People are outraged, saying prices for used, donated clothing have been marked-up — by a lot.
“I went to Value Village a few days ago and I’m not going back,” wrote Jessica on the social media website.
Kayla left a post saying it’s a shame she can’t afford used items and she has to resort to buying new stff at Wal-Mart for a cheaper price.
Andrew wrote: “Dear Value Village, we are simply shopping at Wal-Mart and looking forward to the arrival of Target.”
Some say they will never shop there again; others say because of the rising prices, they’ll never donate there again.
The company issued a statement saying the feedback is being addressed.

value village is riff with human rights abuses as well, it is a horrible horrible company, far worse then walmart even.
they shut off the heat in one store to save on hydro, it was too hard to heat, so employees go to work wearing 3-4 layers with gloves and scarf to keep warm, they are unable to shop for 72 hours, meaning they cannot buy ANY goods sold until they have been on the store shelves for a minimum of 72 hours, this goes for friends and family of employees, no discount, they simply will refuse to sell them goods, it seems that employees money is not as good as non-employees, correct me if i am wrong here but isn’t that a violation of their human rights to goods and services, running a gas powered floor cleaner with out ventilation, it was a WCB issue that Value village ignored and told he employees to work faster, they won’t notice the toxic smells and fumes as much.
