SURREY (NEWS1130) – People from all over the world are gathering today to remember the bullied teenager from Port Coquitlam who took her own life last week.
Candlelight vigils for Amanda Todd are planned as far away as India and Denmark. There will also be several ceremonies in Canada, including one at Holland Park in Surrey at 6 p.m.
Global Girl Power is organizing the event and is asking people to wear pink.
“Let’s light up the whole world,” it says on the group’s Facebook page. “Together we take [a] stand against bullying.”
In a YouTube video, which has been viewed by millions of people, Todd outlined how she was bullied and discussed an Internet stalker who harassed her online.
