VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A man who pleaded guilty to the brutal sexual assault of his former girlfriend seven years ago in North Vancouver has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison.
The boyfriend, who can’t be named because of a publication ban, was in a jealous rage after he saw his girlfriend talking to some other guys. He took her into their apartment and forced her into several painful and degrading sexual acts that lasted two hours before he finally passed out.
He repeatedly threatened to kill her during the attack.
He’d been drinking and may have been high on drugs, and claims not to remember what happened.
The victim still has nightmares and flashbacks and says she’s often too scared to leave her apartment.
